XII

XII Sound (Alice DeVille) is a composer and singer whose work explores the space between the natural world and the urban environment, transforming field recordings and everyday sound into immersive sonic landscapes.

Rooted in neo-classical composition and experimental sound design, her music draws on industrial textures, the rhythms of the city, and her own voice as instrument and material,  shaping pieces that move between the stark and the elemental, the human and the environmental. Themes of healing and ecological re-connection run throughout, a response to and reflection on the climate crisis.

Her EP Tube V (January 2026), released on Audiobulb and Driftworks records, received airplay on Late Junction on BBC Radio 3 and Resonance FM, and her track Tube VI was selected for No Fixed Mix, a sound design programme for female and non-binary composers at String and Tins.

Trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Alice has performed as an opera singer internationally at venues including Glyndebourne, Wigmore Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and St John's Smith Square.

Her background spans experimental composition and interdisciplinary performance, including sold-out productions with Opera in Space, the experimental opera company of which she was Co-Artistic Director. That theatrical sensibility continues to inform the depth and storytelling of her sound work.

Alongside her creative practice, Alice brings over 20 years of experience to her voice and communication coaching through The Authentic Communicator, helping individuals find greater freedom and expression in their communication skills.

XII Sound is managed by Incoming Artists.
